Elektro gorenjska hackathon

What are we looking for?

What new methods and concepts can we adopt today, to set up long-lasting relations between both the distributor and the transmission operator of the electricity system, and the general population?

Only by working hand in hand will we see a revolution in the electric distribution.

We are looking for concepts, ideas, means of working together – not necessarily technical solutions, directed to set up a new customer engagement strategy of the future.

We want to increase customer engagement and feedback in the electric distribution field, so think about what tools and concepts can be introduced to increase customer’s interactions, boost their satisfaction and change the way electric distributors engage with their clients.

WHY NOW

In the past, the role of electricity distributors and transmission operators was very one-sided, aimed to provide end users the needed infrastructure and electricity with great stability and without any disturbances.

Especially households tended to be the most inactive when it came to engaging with the electric distributor: usually, households used to pick one provider and simply stick with it for decades. The only engagement moment with the provider itself was when the monthly bill was paid and occasionally when some disruptions occured. But the needs of customers are becoming more and more demanding.

Having a stable electric network was enough to provide good service and to maintain customer satisfaction, and while at Elektro Gorenjska and ELES they did just that with an almost spotless record, they also recognised that the world is changing – and the role of electricity providers and operators with it.

Nowadays we are rushing to the new future. A future where local electricity production and microgrids are becoming more intertwined and complex. This is changing the role of Elektro Gorenjska and ELES from solemn provider of electricity and transmission operator to consultants for new solutions on the market. Their role took another big task of education and interactive partner to clients’ own sustainable efforts.
